HISTORIC ROOTS: THE ODD FELLOWS ROOFTOP GARDEN

Long before our current rooftop series, Atlanta's historic Odd Fellows Building on Auburn Avenue pioneered the concept of elevated entertainment. Completed in 1912-1913, this landmark African-American owned complex featured an elegant roof garden that became a cultural centerpiece during the Jim Crow era.

The rooftop created a rare sophisticated space where Atlanta's Black community could dine and dance in an elegant atmosphere. Its flat roof hosted social functions throughout the 1920s, offering a unique venue where patrons could enjoy entertainment under the Atlanta sky - much like our current rooftop series continues this tradition of musical celebration today.

Parking.

For the easiest event access, we recommend the Big Bethel Church parking lot at

214 John Wesley Dobbs Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308.

This spacious lot offers the most convenient parking option for Block and Drum events, just a short walk to the venue entrance.

Limited street parking is also available in the surrounding area, but fills quickly on event nights.
